Chapter 29

Hey there!

So I first want to apologize for not creating content recently! I have been busy with work, my internship, and my juice business. This past week I said to myself, there is no excuse for not blogging. It’s not that I don’t have enough time in the day, I’m not making enough time in the day. I was suppose to create a birthday blog post a week ago but keep putting it on the back burner. No more! Get it together Dom! Then when I tried to post Squarespace decides to update to a new mobile version and deletes my post! I was livid! However, I looked at it as a opportunity to create a even better post.

As of today my birthday was 20 days ago and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am sitting back now laughing at the small moments I was freaking out and ready to cancel everything. It’s funny how we are so quick to cancel instead of working around the problem and revamping a new idea. Enough of rambling back to my 29 and fine birthday!

On June 25, 1990, Domonique Joyce Russell was born. Who knew 29 years later that I would be this awesome woman. As I have stated before this year protecting my peace has become a big part of my life. As I was making last minute plans for my birthday, my only concern was being around good energy. I didn’t ask for anything I just wanted to be in a good head space and share it with my family and friends.

June 28th which was a Friday, I made dinner reservations with 4 of my closest friends at Pinky’s Rooftop in Royal Oak, MI. I LOVE this restaurant from the pink decor, tasty food, and cute and bubbly drinks. Since then I have been back to Pinky’s 3 times! After dinner of course I had to have a slight turn up but nothing to big since I’m pushing thirty!

After a great night out with friends and countless drinks, I was in need for some relaxation. I booked a spa party at Bee’s Beauty Bar located in Southfield, MI. Myself and 5 of my favorite ladies received amazing massages and mini facials all while sipping mimosas. The ladies at Bee’s Beauty Bar were phenomenal! In between massages we were able to have much some much needed girl talk about, business, life, love, and the future. This was my favorite part of my birthday celebration. I love to connect with like minded women and have purposeful conversations.

As I am looking back at each birthday, (well the ones I can remember) I have to give honor to God for blessing me to see 29. My growth is so crazy that I barely know who Domonique was back in 2013. I have transitioned to a entrepreneur, free spirit, creator, graceful woman.

I am blessed how can I complain…
