Never Turn Back

Never Turn Back

Happy Sunday!

If you didn’t make it to church this morning don’t worry I have you covered! I have been a member of Christian Tabernacle Church since I was 2. It’s my home away from my actual home. My pastor  James L. Morman’s passion is to minister to the people of God which is driven by an authentic love directed by His Spirit.

Today’s sermon was entitled “Never Turn Back.” The first scripture was from Acts 20:24. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race, and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me. (NIV) If you didn’t know, I’ll tell you God will give you a word to kill your doubtful spirit.

Dealing with my finances this week has truly tested my faith to keep pushing and not turn back to my old job. As we all know I hated my last job but I was financially comfortable. I could pay my bills and still play with my money. Nowadays that’s not the case. When I decided to leave I prepared myself for the trials to come but chileeee it’s nothing like actually going through it. I am truly learning the meaning of budgeting.

I have thought about returning to my old job a million times, then  I think about why I left in the first place. My mind, body, and spirit are in better shape than ever before. My mind is free to see clearly see the vision He has for me. My body is relaxed. My spirit is calm and peaceful.

The next scripture came from Hebrews 12:1-2; Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV)

Today’s word was confirmation that something great is waiting for me at the end of my race. I have faith that God has so much more for me but I had to want it for myself and make myself uncomfortable with this change. So I need have patience with this marathon because it is  not a race! What awaits me at the end will exceed my expectations as well as my current struggles.

At the beginning of service Pastor Morman said, “This coming week is going to be one of the best weeks of your life!” I believe it and receive it! I pray that you have a phenomenal week as well!
