Quick Fix?

We live in a day and age where it is so much easier to eat fast food! Everyone is busy busy busy with work, school, kids, etc. We all fall victim to the quick fix. We eat fast food then feel terrible afterwards. I know eating healthy can be quite costly but so is fast food if your doing it 3 to 4 times a week. It all comes down to having time really to actually cook. I know for myself as a full time student and employee I don’t have much time to cook during the week. I came across a little gem in Kroger a few months ago to help me with one of my weak points.

I suck at cooking salmon! Absolutely suck! Either it comes out too dry or not enough seasoning. I love salmon so you can imagine how heartbreaking this is. While cruising by the seafood section at my local Kroger I stumbled upon frozen salmon pre seasoned and individual packaged! To say i was excited is a understatement. You mean to tell me all I have to do is pop it in the oven. The hard part is done! Lol

I bought two boxes and that ran me about $14.89! All I had to do when I got home was choose a veggie. I cut up some zucchini and squash. I used Mrs. Dash garlic & herb seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, then sautéed in extra virgin olive oil. I cooked them for about 20 minutes on low in a non stick pan, until the veggies started to get a little soft but not too soft. The salmon only needed to cook for about 25-30 minutes. I literally greased a glass pan with olive oil and popped it in the oven! Within a matter of minutes dinner was ready.

Check out the finish product! Hope this helps for those days you really don’t feel like going through all the steps when it come to cook!
